Sea breeze and fairy lights

Yesterday was date-night for Brendan and I, something I look forward to every time we plan dinners like these. Although I fret over what to wear most of the time, dolling up for the night reminds me of the first time we walked along the Singapore River (with me struggling in my heels) last July.
We had a pleasant dinner at Privé Grill yesterday night where the portions were just right and the service was impeccable. I really enjoyed the outdoor ambience -- tranquil with the occasional soft breeze, pretty fairy lights (albeit bad lighting for pictures) and the appropriate music playing in the background. We were presented with bread with a portion of beef cheek and thinned sweet-potato skins with cheddar and olive oil before our mains were served. We had steak, pork collar, a couple of oysters (which I didn't take to liking but Bren said it was one of the freshest he's ever tasted) and duck fat fries with truffle mayonnaise. It was a night of indulgence because my personal fitness-trainer gave in to my plea to have dessert! The chocolate lava cake definitely did not disappoint.
The most cruel part of a goodbye is how it hits you the hardest when the person you miss isn't within your reach.
