always ourselves
12:36 PM
Visited a recently-popular poolside cafe in Toa Payoh two weekends ago with Cheryl and we were impressed with the rare gem tucked away in HomeTeam NS. It was Sunday and we half-expected it to be packed with people during brunch but the cafe was nice and quiet that morning. It's right next to the pool and the breeze was perfect. And of course we ordered (a little too much) but the food was worth the raves we found online.
Salted Egg Donuts -- something so familiar yet eaten in the different way
3-Cheese Penne Gratin -- always a fan of cheese (!!!) and gratin
Beef and Kimchi Naanwich -- really like the idea of the naan but we could hardly taste the kimchi (this one made us really full)
Nachos that came with our mains
And of course we couldn't leave without taking a few (okay more than that) pictures. It's been a while since we went out like this without our laptops or notes to study before having our meals. Thankful for the short respite although school had already started and even more thankful for this friendship because we can spend hours talking about nothing in particular and laughing like old times.
