happy birthday
11:05 AM
This is the year we turn 20 and also what marks the end of our teen years. It's rather daunting how we're growing up so quickly because it didn't seem so long ago that we were still worrying about our PSLE results. These four girls are the ones I hold onto so dearly. We don't meet very often and I may not always show it but they'll always be what keeps me grounded when things go awry.
Explored the Bukit Timah area on Aizhen's birthday. Well we didn't really roam the grasslands and look at the horses but I liked just sitting there talking, reminiscing, occasionally looking out at the tranquility of that Sunday.
Immensely thankful for friendships that surpass the test of time and distances. We've known each other for a decade and so much has changed in this period: we grew up, we look different, we speak different, we've all changed in one way or another. But our friendship hasn't faltered and I'm glad to know they'll always have my back. To many many more birthdays together, until we're white-haired and toothless and have to eat gluten-free cake surrounded by our grandchildren.
To the birthday girl:
Spent two years with you in the same junior college and I miss seeing your face everyday. Remember how we walked to school together in complete silence just because we were too tired to speak? I think that's what they call comfortable silence. Now that we've gone on to different schools, we meet less often but I know that I can still count on you to be my listening ear. Just counting my blessings to have you in my life.
