Taiwan Day 3: Kaohsiung > Kenting

11 December 2013
Third day in Taiwan and I was already starting to irk the unhealthy food culture. Oily, salty street food is delicious, granted but it gave me bad skin, a sore throat and wobbly thighs :'( That aside, the day's attractions were gorgeous. Really loved all the views:
White Sand Beach, 砂岛, 船帆石, 猫鼻头, 风吹砂, 鹅銮鼻 Lighthouse.
Spent the day sightseeing (I actually prefer this to shopping or getting massages) and taking photographs of everything and anything. Winds were so strong especially at the eastern part of the mountains. Made my hair a little crazy and blew horrid tangles in them.
With our fruity Taiwan beer (ps. don't try pineapple, it's horrible....)
One of my favourite restaurant meals of the trip because everything was so so so fresh (Kenting is a coastal area) and tasteful and healthy.
This large plate of sashimi only cost us SGD8, dad and I couldn't resist we were raising our chopsticks here non-stop during the meal.
Dad and Han intently watching a fisherman.
Just me photobombing (I swear I didn't know) a group of Mainland China tourists heh.
Han and I acting like how we were probably 10 years ago. Had a ton of fun here because we were running around attracting a lot of unwanted attention.
Oh yknow, I've always wanted to lie in a bed of cattail plants.
The water was such a gorgeous blue and the peaks of the waves looked like toothpaste.
At the most southern point of Taiwan.
Poor stray hiding in the tall grass because it was really cold.
The winds were so so so strong that the plants are flattened in the same direction it was blowing.
How beautiful is this scene?
My pops trying to hide from the wind (but to no avail).
Natural gas emitted from the ground and hence the fire wasn't manmade. It's been alight ever since.
"How does this look? Do I look like an ancient warrior defending my town??"
Our hotel on the third night was a house converted into a tiny motel.
Me and just about my 50th cup of bubble tea in Taiwan (I'm kidding).
We were wandering the streets after nightfall and found this gem that had really good dumplings and this.... noodle soup?
Pretty glad we didn't opt for the night market because I was really craving a proper (non-pigging out) dinner. Anyway, I had food poisoning after this night (spent the next day with a terrible stomach) because we took away the amazing heavenly sashimi to have in the hotel for supper. And of course by then the ice had melted and the fish had probably gone bad...
