Seizing this chance of leisure time to write because I've certainly missed this. School is... overwhelming, but what's new? It's been a crazy two weeks trying to balance assignments, presentations and group meetings (I haven't even gotten down to revising the past 10 weeks of classes). I'm still squinting to see the tiniest glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel but I'm definitely hanging in there because I'm counting down to the end of the semester. I refuse to run myself to the ground like the time during A levels because I believe we should be enjoying the next four years and not find it a chore. Why waste the last four years of your education, the only time of freedom and (a little) relaxation working yourself to the bone? I admit I haven't been studying as hard but I know I'm still doing more than the minimum required of me so the guilt hasn't hit me (yet?). Nonetheless, I'm definitely no GPA-chaser (and so aren't my parents) because I am convinced that uni should be a part of life, not a suffocating pit.

On a lighter note,

Reminiscing my bittersweet JC life. This year's Baccalaureate took place on Wednesday and that marked our one year of graduating from a place that was pretty much my second home. Never knew I'd ever ever ever say this but I look back at life then fondly because they were the best two years. I don't know what the future has in store but I can safely say that 11/12 changed my life so significantly. These memories are what make everything worthwhile.

Lunch two weeks ago with my newly-retired mother

Met Li at PS. Cafe two fridays ago

White bean cappuccino soup (they were really generous with the truffle oil) and the classic smoked salmon tartine

Finished off with their signature kouign aman and choco-banana crumble

Tiong Bahru Bakery with Cheryl last Wednesday (we're always spoilt for choice when it comes to baked goods) - our usual haunt for studying, HTHTs and pigging out

Mom sewed a purse for me (perks of her being retired and when she doesn't go out she works on things like these)

Breakfast last Sunday when I had a break from water-training - baked eggs on toast (I have a soft spot for soft eggs)

Bel bought me herbal tea because I've been sick for more than week: little things like these touch me to a level I cannot even describe, I'm not even kidding

Back in school on a Saturday and worked on our AS assignment. Ended up going home after 10pm (hit an all-new record)

TOKYO BANANANANANANANANA (mom's friend gave it to her and damn were they good)

With Janice and Rachel when I met them along the corridors

comfy decor at Swirl@rt at River Valley Road

midweek break (okay I didn't go for gym because I had a bad cough and a cold but, I downed the fro-yo in 30 minutes...

With Nora who can be both silly and serious at the same time. Really thankful for this lovely gal-pal I met in school and despite only meeting once a week, I know I can always count on her.

PAUL at Ngee Ann City with the bff

Cakes at Spinelli which I definitely wouldn't go back for although their service is amazing. And I fell in love with their Honey Ginger Latte, a must try for the ginger-tea lovers out there (the bff thinks I'm gross and old for liking ginger tea)

For the one who's always been there for me no matter how far away we are from one another (hate being in different schools because I miss seeing you everyday although you're so annoying I'm kidding I love you)
