Sheena turned 19 on Saturday and this was how we spent it with her the day after:

Dad lent me the car for this special occasion so we explored parts of town that were not-so-accessible by foot.

We were practically their only customers for the night on a Sunday (wish we could try their brunch menu out because everything sounded so tantalising).

House-baked breads which all 5 of us agreed were one of the tastiest ones we've tasted in a long time.
And of course, we wiped the basket clean; butter and all.

Smoked Salmon Salad: nothing goes wrong with some smoked salmon!

Steak and Eggs: the usual fanfare but nothing special except for their very unique sauce by the side.

Hawaiian pizza

Really really really good Chicken Pot Pie: I loved how when we broke the crust, steam escaped, sending wafts of thick creamy chicken sauce into the air (I'm not exaggerating, really).

Strawberry crepe cake for the birthday girl.

For supper we wanted to give Wimbly Lu a try because of their famous Root Beer Cake and waffles. But it was completely packed that Sunday night so we decided to give its neighbour, Rokeby, a run for its money.

Turned out disappointed because these desserts look so much better than it tasted. Not professionals but we know a dry cake when we taste it. Usually we'd wipe the plates clean in five minutes but this time, the cakes disappeared very, very slowly.

The pretty birthday girl 'unwrapping' and 'unboxing' her gifts.

These are a few of my favourite group shots of that evening. Really thankful for this 10th year of friendship. Looking back, we may not have been very close during the first few years but with the queer twist of fate, our lives have very much intertwined. I know I'm never shaking these girls off my back for the next century... Every year we celebrate 5 birthdays together (okay, overlooking our budget by a bit) and I've realised that as we get older, it gets harder to find the perfect gift or plan the quintessential day. I hope the birthday girl had a good night out although it was a simple dinner with the customary birthday cake, candles, presents, pictures and lots of food.
