What's been going on the past few days besides studying for my papers and going to school for them (the past two days). Sometimes we forget to stop and count our blessings when we have too much on our minds. These are the little (or big) things that keep me sane in life.

sat in for one of Aizhen's lectures before we went for lunch (haven't been into a lecture theatre since JC days!)

@ Brew and Bake, a quaint cafe frequented by uni students near NUS

we had dessert for lunch, which turned out rather unappealing towards the end of our meal when we found ourselves feeling too disgusted to continue

and this was in CLB in NUS (while it attracted a few stares and tsks from students around us)

Had a great day nonetheless with this girl who forgot she had a tutorial (hence abandoning me in the library which was actually a blessing in disguise because I actually got some work done teehee). Not wanting to sound cheesy, I honestly really miss our JC days when we headed to school together. Somedays we talked endlessly in the wee hours of the morning (when it was still dark), but on other days silence filled the gaps but it felt nice too.

spent Thursday with momma running errands, grocery-shopping and visiting my grandma

the walk towards Comman Man Coffee Roasters, along Roberston Quay: a pleasant morning by the riverside

cosy place that didn't feel anything like Singapore (besides its patrons of course)

Li had their famous Full Breakfast which was pretty filling (but was made of the usual works of an English Breakfast)

had the Turkish Common Man Breakfast which was really really good (especially suited to my exotic tastebuds heehee): soft-boiled egg with crispy feta cheese and pita bread with hummus.

It was a lovely morning spent over coffee and breakfast before Li left for London again until August.
Really cherish this gem because leaving secondary school halfway left me with just a few precious friends and she's been one of these constants. I'm glad we always have infinite topics to talk about no matter how far apart we are.

spent the evening with Yun, with whom I haven't met this entire semester (and she attributes this to how busy I am although she had to say the same for herself). Another constant in my life because ours is an unexpected friendship (we had nothing in common) formed from our UK trip three years ago. I love how we never fail to bring this up every single time we meet because boy were those good times.

my first mudpie from Island Creamery (ice-cream plus a cake, double the joy and sinfulness)

My first try making bread from scratch (i.e. flour, water and butter) and without a bread machine (now is the time my muscles come in handy for kneading the dough)

found some leftover ham in the fridge so I made some cheesy ham-n-egg tartlets

and (do not judge) it's always been my dream to make French toasts using thick pieces of bread, and now that I'd made my own sourdough, voila -- thick delicious French toasts with caramelised apples

today's short respite from two papers with Sheena -- blueberry cheesecake yoghurt parfait (so yummy because cheesecake and ice-cream came together in matrimony created a perfect unison ha ha ha)

the chocolate (valrhona) souffle we failed to have the previous time we visited Miam Miam was expectedly so good (it was also my virgin taste of a souffle and hmmm I already like it)

So that concludes my adventures the past week. One more paper left on Monday and S U M M E R will be here I am so so so psyched!!!
